Bidar: Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhu B. Chavan has instructed Deputy Commissioners to release water from Karanja Reservoir to Manjra River to supply adequate water to the people and livestock as some villages in Aurad and Kamalanagar Taluks are facing acute drinking water crisis.
There is a problem of water naturally during the summer season. If water is released from Karanja Reservoir to Manjra River, it will benefit some villages in Bhalki Taluk, which falls under the river limits, as well as Sangama, Jambagi, Balat, Thanakushanur, Hedagapur and a number of villages under various Gram Panchayat limits in Aurad (B) Constituency, he added.
Alternative arrangements should be made for villages with severe problems. If there are minor issues such as motor breakdown, damage to electrical appliances, it should be rectified immediately and there should be no water scarcity anywhere, he stated.
The Minister has directed the officials concerned to prepare a list of villages that may face water crisis in the coming days and ensure that there is no problem.
