Chikkamagaluru: More than 10 villagers have been brutally assaulted in the District as the alleged goondaism of labourers from Assam continues.
Hundreds of Assam-based labourers, who had come to work in a coffee plantation in Malagaru Village near Mallandur, attacked the villagers after a scuffle broke out with the garden writer over work.
It is learnt that the villagers, who had gone to clear the ruckus, were chased and beaten up by the Assam workers.
More than four seriously injured villagers have been admitted to the District Hospital. The Bajrang Dal has termed the attack by illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.
