Chikkamagaluru: JD (S) Legislature Party leader S. L. Bojegowda said, “The rumours circulating on social media about the JD (S) candidate from Chikkamagaluru Constituency are false and it is almost certain that B. M. Thimmashetty will contest from Chikkamagaluru Constituency in this year’s Assembly elections. He said that party workers should not be bothered by rumours of fake news.

Addressing a meeting of party workers at the JD (S) Office in the City, he said that the party workers should not pay heed to the words coming from social media and anti-party elements. The candidate from the constituency was suffering from a slight illness. He is now ready and has jumped into the electoral arena, he added.

I have served in the JD(S) for several years. The State leaders had also given an opportunity to themselves and the District Presidents in the selection of candidates. He responded by saying that he cannot contest in elections. Therefore, B. M. Thimmashetty, who has been providing loyalty to the party and social work in the constituency for many years, has been made a candidate, he said.
