Dharawad: After allowing the installation of Ganesha idols and Tipu Jayanti celebrations at Rani Channamma Idgah Grounds in Hubballi, the City Corporation has now allowed the installation of a statue of Kamanna. Hubballi-Dharawad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) Mayor Eresh Anchatageri has issued an order to this effect.
The Gajanana Utsav Mahamandal, which had earlier sought permission to hold the Ganesh festival at Rani Channamma Grounds, has also applied for permission to install the statue of Kamanna on the occasion of Ranga Panchami under the leadership of its President Sanjay Badaskar. After hearing the petition, the Corporation imposed various rules and thereby allowed the installation of Kamanna’s idol and the burning of the idol between Thursday March 9 to Saturday March 11.
No disturbances will be allowed during the programme and a refundable deposit of Rs. 10,000 has been charged against this. In case of any disturbance and damage to property, the organisers will be held responsible, the order states.
