Dharawad: ‘District Airport to be renamed after Sri Jagajyothi Basaveshwara’ | Azad Times

Dharawad: Congress Leader and State President of Veerashaiva Lingayat Sub-Sects Federation Dr. Sharanappa Kotagi has demanded that Hubballi Airport should be renamed as Sri Jagajyothi Basaveshwara Airport.

Speaking to mediapersons in the City, he urged the Centre and the State Government to remove the statue of Sri Jagajyothi Basavanna from Gulabi Vana in Hubballi and install the statue of Basavanna near the gate of Hubballi Airport.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said that his demands should be fulfilled at the earliest and he will meet Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and urge him to put pressure on the Centre.
