Gadag: Public Works Department Minister C. C. Patil said that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has released Rs. 1 Crore grant for the historic Lakkundi Festival and steps are being taken to celebrate it in a grand manner,” he said.

He was speaking after unveiling the logo and banner of Lakkundi Utsava at Annadaneshwara Matha Auditorium in Lakkundi Village in the Taluk.

The Lakkundi Festival to be held on February 10, 11 and 12 of this month is being organised with a view to ensure that local artistes get priority and representation. “Rani Chennamma’s play will be staged in the premises of B. H. Lakkundi Patil High School,” he noted.

“Lakkundi Festival will be inaugurated by planting saplings. B. C. Patil, Govind Karajol, Sunil Kumar and several other ministers have been invited,” he said.
