Hassan: Five persons were injured in a clash between the BJP and the JD (S) over a minor issue by a group of people bursting crackers on the last day of the renovation and inauguration of a temple at Doddapura Village in the Taluk.

The renovation ceremony of Sri Udbhava Rameshwara Swamy Temple at Doddapura Village in Kasaba Hobli of Hassan and the inauguration of the temple was held at 9.30 pm.bHowever on the last day at 9.30 pm to felicitate all the party leaders of the village who had worked hard for the renovation of the temple was arranged. At this point, fireworks were burst on those sitting there.

Angered by this, the JD (S) workers created a ruckus and there was a scuffle. The Policemen who were present there intervened and also resorted to mild laati charge to disperse the crowd.

Five JD(S)-backed people, who were injured in the clash, have been admitted to a Government Hospital for treatment.

A case has been registered against many based on the complaint. Former Zilla Panchayat Vice-President H. P. Swaroop went to the government Hospital around 2.00 pm and enquired about it.
