Hassan: Mukti Dham crematorium inaugurated in Bikkod | Azad Times

Hassan: Lions Club Governor Lion S Sanjeeva Shetty has opined that when governments fail to deliver the facilities that are conducive to human resource development, only organisations and donors can do so.

He was speaking after inaugurating the hi-tech Muktidhama crematorium constructed at a cost of Rs 15 lakh at Bikkodu village in the taluk with the help of Lions Club Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Society and some donors. He said that Lions Seva Sanstha is constantly working towards uplifting the weaker sections of the society.

Lions has already taken many projects to the people by doing social work. Whatever we have done has to make sense. Only then will the work we have become worthwhile. The government’s schemes to help the weaker sections will not be complete, It also requires the cooperation of the public. If you advance ahead and you serve, there will be a bank of many behind you, if we sit down to why we are the supposed to do for this society our lives will not have meaning. Let’s adopt a helping spirit as much as we can.”

Speaking on the occasion, Lions Club Bikkodu Hobli President H.V. Shivashankar said that the public of Bikkodu Hobli Central Unorganized Sector, which is part of the Semi-Malnad region, is mostly inhabited by the public. The problem has now been resolved after it was noticed that the locals were opposed to cremating the body in a public crematorium when he died while living as labourers in the plantations. Those who have it should come forward to extend a helping hand to the needy, including the poorer sections. That is human religion. Let us move forward as one with all of us, making a good contribution to the society as much as we can.
