Kalaburagi: ‘Instead of MLA, other officials inaugurate programmes’ | Azad Times

Kalaburagi: BJP Youth Leader Arvind Chavan alleged that Priyank Kharge is not the MLA from Chittapur Constituency. “Instead, many others are holding MLA posts instead of him,” he mocked.

Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that the Block Congress Presidents, Former Zilla Panchayat Members and Congress Leaders have been given powers to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate Government projects at Chittapur Constituency in violation of the rules of the Government and the Constitution. As per the government rules, the MLA of the Constituency has to preside over the Government programme being held in the respective constituencies, he said.

“Though no Government function can be presided over or inaugurated by Government officials or individuals from non-government sectors here MLA is absent from most of the programmes,” he explained with several examples.
