Karwar: Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy said that when I was the Chief Minister, I had given land for the construction of a Brahmin community hall.

‘I have constituted the Brahmin Development Authority. We need Brahmins who say Sarve Janah Sukhino Bhavantu,” he said. He arrived in Gokarna from Kumta on the sidelines of Pancharatna Yatra and visited Gokarna Mahabaleshwar Desavasthanam. He said, “the priest of the temple is upset with my statement and since he has respect and faith in my family, he asked me to give a clarification in Gokarna itself, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Kumaraswamy said, “We will protect Hinduism. I know what those who came to power in the name of Hindus and are now in power have done. The BJP has done nothing for the Brahmin community. We don’t want Savarkar culture,” he said.
