Mandya: Farmers’ Association to contest in District | Azad Times

Mandya: While the JD (S), Congress and the BJP are fighting for supremacy in the District, the Raitha Sangha is also gearing up to contest and it is certain that candidates will contest from Srirangapattana and Melukote Constituencies.

Earlier, K. S. Puttannaiah had contested from Raitha Sangha and won. After his death, his son Darshana Puttannaiah, who is settled in the US, is making up his mind to contest from his home Constituency i.e. Melukote this time, while Kirangur Papu U. Mohan Kumar from Srirangapattana is preparing to contest from Raitha Sangha.

In fact, the farmers’ union is strong in the State. But it must be admitted that political success could not be achieved due to differences between the leaders, factional feuds, etc. Darshan Puttannaiah is contesting from Melukote and likely to be supported by the Congress.
