Mangaluru: A meeting of boat owners and fishermen leaders was held in City on Monday February 13 to demand justice, protection and compensation to the fishermen of the State by taking appropriate action against the fishermen of Tamil Nadu who have attacked the fishermen of Mangaluru and Malpe.

Fishermen leaders said that a decision on the demands to be placed before the District Administration, the State and Central Governments that was taken at the meeting after which talks will be held with the joint Director of the Fisheries Department.

The incident has been brought to the notice of the Fisheries Department. The Joint Director of Fisheries Department said they have sought more information about the extent of the incident and it will be provided.
