Mangaluru: Heavy Police protection has been put in place in the District for Union Home Minister Amit Shah visit as there is death threat.

Congress Leader Mohammad Ali has demanded that the Bajrang Dal should protect the Home Minister in District, which is the strong hold of the RSS.

Addressing a press conference at the Puttur Press Club here, he said that Amit Shah will be coming to Puttur on Saturday February 11 to attend the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Campco and questioned if the Home Minister, who is attending a private event, needed such a large amount of security. He further said, “Amit Shah fears for his life to visit in the District which is the stronghold of the RSS. Why is there a need for such a large number of policemen when the activists of Hindu organisations in the District have all the capabilities to provide security to the Home Minister?,” he asked.

He taunted, “I hope Amit Shah, who will be arriving in the District, would not sell Campco, a major organisation of the District, to traders in Gujarat,” he said.
