Mangaluru: Moodabidri Police on Monday February 6 arrested a man for allegedly killing a man by throwing him under a tipper after hitting him on the head with a rod because he asked the accused to drive slowly.

Tipper driver Aris, a resident of Kotebagilu, has been arrested for the murder. He had stabbed Fayaz (61), a resident of Kotebagilu, to death on Friday February 3 after running a tipper over him before absconding.

Fayaz was on his way to Fort Gate Mosque on Friday for namaz when a man drove the tipper at high speed and made the road where Fayaz was walking dusty. An angry Fayaz asked him to slow down, during which a verbal spat broke out between the two leading to murder.

While returning from the namaz, there was a heated exchange of words between the two, when Fayaz went over the tipper’s step and spoke to him. First he head was hit on the head with some sharp-edged weapon, and then wehn he will ran the tipper over him.

Fayaz died while being rushed to a hospital by the public.
