Mangaluru: A newborn baby, left behind by her parents at the State Bank of India service bus stand in the City, was found on Thursday February 16 and is being treated in the ICU of the Paediatric Ward of the District Wenlock Hospital.

The baby’s health is deteriorating and there are minor injuries on the head. At the time of detection, the tube was inserted into the nose.

It is also learnt that the baby has been getting fits. It may have been about a week since the baby boy was born,” said Wenlock Hospital Paediatric Department Dr. Sanjeev Kumar.

The child was spotted by locals with a man and a woman at the service bus stop around noon. In the evening, the child was kept at the base of a light pole. The drivers who saw only a child, informed the Police.
