Mangaluru: BJP National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha Member Sudhanshu Trivedi said, “Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has done a good job in the State. Under his leadership we will go to the elections. It is too early to say who will be the next Chief Minister. It will be decided by the Parliamentary Committee,” he said.
Addressing a press conference in the City, he said as a response to Opposition Leaders’ accusation of BJP not having a Lingayat Chief Minister as it is heard that Brahmin candidate would be the Chief Minister that it would be decided by Parliamentary Committee.
When asked about allegations of Former Deputy Chief Minister K. S. Eshwarappa makes speeches that incite communal sentiments and State BJP President Nalin Kumar talks about love jihad and whether he agrees with this, he said Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest Muslim country, has not allowed Muslims to use loudspeaker for Azaan. “Since 1995, SIMI has been targeting Hindus and Christians in Kerala. The administration there had asked authorities to take action against SIMI even though it was too late. Pinarayi Vijayan was not the only one who did not make statements against Muslims, he noted.
When asked whether BJP MLCs and Leaders are leaving the party in the State, he said defections are common during elections. All of them are big leaders, like Amarinder Singh, who was the Chief ministerial candidate in Punjab, are among those who left the party during the elections. This will not harm the party,” he said.
To a question with regard to 40 per cent commission charge, he said, “If any person is caught indulging in corruption and hiding it, it is a crime. If there is a genuine allegation, why hasn’t a complaint been lodged? Earlier, during the Congress regime, there was an 85 per cent commission system. Such a situation is no longer there here, he said.
