Mysuru: The Karnataka Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board has launched a ‘Bogus Card Registration Cancellation Campaign’ from January 25 to February 25, to cancel bogus cards through which many are receiving various benefits of the Board. The registration of beneficiaries is done by using fake documents.
Further legal action will be not taken if the beneficiaries who have obtained identity cards by creating fake documents during this period voluntarily return the identity card to the Board i.e. to the offices of senior Labour Inspectors, who are Registrars. If the fake workers are caught during verification, their identity cards will not only be confiscated but will also face further legal action.
Labour officials said that the fake workers should immediately hand over the identity card they have obtained to the Labour Department to avoid legal action and henceforth no one who has not worked in building and other construction works should create false or forged documents and get an identity card from the Board.
