Mysuru: The Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) has taken over properties worth Rs. 3 Crore after removing illegally constructed buildings by encroaching upon land meant for public use.

The MUDA land grabbers, who claimed to be their own, were reprimanded by the officials on morning of Wednesday February 8. The land grabbers, who had encroached upon the MUDA land behind the R.S. Naidunagara Bus Stand in City, had constructed four buildings and two buildings on the other side. One of the public had complained that the land belonged to MUDA and the buildings were encroached upon and constructed.

Taking a serious note of the complaint, Commissioner G. T. Dinesh Kumar had directed the officials to submit a spot inspection report. So, after inspecting the site, the officials decided to vacate the land behind the R. S. Naidunagara Bus Stand after a report confirmed that it belonged to MUDA. Accordingly, on Wednesday, Commissioner G. T. Dinesh Kumar led a team of JCB, lorries, tippers and other vehicles and started the eviction drive under police bandobast.
