Mysuru: Mysuru MP Pratap Simha said that there is no system of naming National Highways after people and this rule applies while naming Districts in the State too. “Those who advise people to keep others’ names should know about this and speak,” he said.

Speaking to mediapersons, he said that people of all Districts look up to Mother Cauvery with devotion. “There is a reverence among the people of this region towards River Cauvery. He further said “Don’t discuss whether the son is the eldest or the mother is eldest. Obviously, the mother is.” The Mysore Airport is named after Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV. We have named the trains after Wodeyar. We have given every respect to Dr. Rajkumar’s family. Now, there should be no unnecessary controversy over the naming of the road,” he said.

“Cauvery is the lifeline of this land. Don’t create a dispute over the name,” he said.
