Udupi: Law enforcement conducted a raid on an illicit sand mining operation in Movadi, located within Kundapur taluk, resulting in the apprehension of five individuals.
The detained laborers have been recognized as Manejer (30), Guddu Kumar (20), Jitendra Kumar (25), Dinesh (22), and Alban (42), all of whom are residents of Uttar Pradesh. In response to reports of unlawful sand mining, PSI Harish R. and the personnel from Gangolli police station were subjected to an attack.
Two plywood fiber-coated boats valued at Rs 2 lakh each, plastic baskets worth around Rs 2,000, iron buckets totaling approximately Rs 1,800, two wooden planks with an estimated value of around Rs 200, one iron stand valued at approximately Rs 6,000, and one unit of sand worth roughly Rs 3,500 were all confiscated.
