Mysuru: A tragic accident involving a bike performing wheelie stunts claimed the life of an elderly cattle herder, Guruswami (65), and left another person, Govinda Raju, severely injured. Govinda Raju has been hospitalized at Nanjangudu Government Hospital. Villagers captured the bike rider, Syed Aiman, and later surrendered him to the police.
The incident transpired on a Saturday evening while Guruswamy and Govindaraju were attending to their cattle by the roadside in the Himmavu Industrial Area. Syed Aiman and his companion, Pankaj, arrived at the location to perform bike wheeling stunts.
While executing a wheelie stunt on the road, the bike collided with Guruswamy and Govindaraju, who were seated by the roadside. Alert villagers promptly transported the injured individuals to Nanjangudu Government Hospital. Guruswamy, who had suffered serious injuries, initially received medical treatment but unfortunately passed away while being transferred to Mysuru.
Syed Aiman incurred minor injuries when he fell during the wheelie stunt. Following the accident, villagers assisted him in reaching the government hospital, where he received necessary medical attention.
After receiving medical treatment, he was delivered into the custody of the rural police station, where a case was officially filed against him. On Saturday, he appeared before a judge and was subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
Guruswamy’s post-mortem examination was carried out at KR Hospital in Mysore, and subsequently, the body was released to the family.
It’s worth noting that just last month; Syed Aiman had shared a video of himself performing a wheelie stunt on the ring road within Mysuru city on social media. This led to a case being filed at Siddharthanagar police station, followed by his arrest.
Following his release on bail, he persisted in participating in such stunts, ultimately resulting in this unfortunate incident. Additional SP Nandini commented, “An accident case near Himmavu in Nanjangud has been registered at the Nanjangud traffic station.”
A senior citizen tragically lost his life in the occurrence. The motorcycle rider has been taken into custody, and an official case has been filed. The investigation remains ongoing.
The mother of the accused holds the position of a sub-inspector in Nanjanagudu. Immediately following the incident, Yasmin Taj, who served as the PSI at Nanjangudu traffic station, was transferred to the district crime branch under the direction of SP Seema Latker.
Nevertheless, Yasmin Taj, who did not hide her discontent with the transfer, openly criticized the department’s decision. She made her sentiments clear by sharing a copy of the transfer order on her WhatsApp status, saying, “I received this from my beloved department.”
On Sunday, villagers held a protest at KR Hospital, calling for the suspension and arrest of Sub-Inspector Yasmeen Taj, who they believe is supporting her son.
