Ramanagara: Three members of a family, including an eight-month-old child, were seriously injured when their car rammed into a tipper lorry parked for road repairs from behind on the Bengaluru – Mysuru Expressway near Kallugopahalli in Bidadi here.
Purushottam K. P. (37), Nandini (30) and an eight-month-old girl were seriously injured in the accident. They were resident of Kumbara Street in Kanakapura and were residing at Talaghattapura in Bengaluru. The accident took place near Kallugopahalli when Purushotham was on his way to Bengaluru from Ramanagara.
A tipper lorry belonging to DBL Company stopped on the road leading to Bengaluru and working on repairing a road divider when it was hit by a speeding car coming from behind.
Purushotham, who was driving the car, and the child sustained severe head injuries in the incident and the condition is stated to be critical.
The injured were immediately rushed to Bharath Kempanna Multispeciality Hospital in Bidadi for first aid. Purushotham, who was in a critical condition, was rushed to Nimhans in Bengaluru and the baby was rushed to BGS Hospital.
A case has been registered at Bidadi Police Station in this regard.
