Shivamogga: The wild elephant, which was captured at Malalur near Devangi in Theerthahalli Taluk, was shifted to Nagarahole Forest in order to be brought to the Sakkarebailu.
For the ninth day after a massive operation of the last eight days, the elephant was captured through anaesthesia and shifted to Nagarahole at the last minute.
The wild elephant may have come through Bhadra Sanctuary and it is a 7 to 8 year-old male.
Dr. Binay and Ranger Officer Lokesh of Theerthahalli Forest Department were involved in the nine-day operation. The authorities have decided to send the captured elephant to Nagarahole as it is very active.
