Chennai: Dhanush’s Telugu-Tamil bilingual ‘SIR’ (Telugu)/’Vaathi’ (Tamil) directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Sitara Entertainments, in association with Fortune Four Cinemas will release worldwide on February 17 in Telugu and Tamil languages.

A few days before the theatrical release, the makers decided to give Dhanush fans a sneak peek of the film and released the trailer on February 9.

Talking about the trailer of ‘Sir’ aka ‘Vathi’, the trailer shows how the chairman of a private educational institution announces the adoption of several government colleges to provide better education to students in rural areas. Dhanush essays the role of a lecturer.

A source close to the film said, “Venky Atluri has done youthful entertainers in the past. But this time he wanted to make a movie with a good message but with all the commercial elements. ‘We wanted to ensure that the trailer was hard-hitting and that it shed light on several issues plaguing the education sector.

The film stars Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Nara Srinivas, Hyper Adi in lead roles as a rival to Samudrakani. S Naga Vamshi and Sai Saujanya are bankrolling it, while Srikara Studios is presenting it. The technical team of the film includes Cinematographer Dinesh Krishnan, and National Award winning Editor Naveen Nooli.
