According to the report, around 96 per cent of the country’s 15-year-old and older population has received at least one COVID-19 vaccination shot, with approximately 83 per cent  receiving both doses.
New Delhi: COVID vaccine booster doses will be accessible to all adults beginning Sunday, but you will have to pay for the vaccine and it will only be offered at private vaccination centres, according to a government statement.

The booster dose would not be free for the majority of adults. Those over the age of 60, as well as healthcare workers and frontline workers, already received a free booster dose.

The government stated that the continuing free vaccination programme for the first and second doses, as well as the Precaution Dose to Healthcare Workers, Frontline Workers, and the 60plus population, would be continued and increased.

According to the report, around 96 per cent of the country’s 15-year-old and older population has received at least one COVID-19 vaccination shot, with approximately 83 per cent  receiving both doses.

The decision to make the booster available to all adults comes as diseases spread across numerous nations and some Indians find it difficult to travel overseas without a third dose.

Amid concerns about new coronavirus mutations, particularly the XE strain, infections in India have dropped to their lowest level in more than a year, with 1,109 new cases and 43 deaths reported in the last 24 hours. The overall number of illnesses in India now exceeds 4.3 crores, with 5.21 lakh deaths.
