Tumakuru: Artificial plastic rice is being mixed in the ration rice being distributed to the public, leaving the ration beneficiaries worried.

In Tumakuru district, rice is being distributed to the public at the ration centre opened for distribution of ration to the public and at the ration centre run by VSS. The rice being distributed recently was found to be mixed with artificially made plastic rice.

The department and the government have failed to track down the networks that are adulterating rice using plastic with rice. Ration families in the district are worried about the distribution of adulterated rice.

A huge quantity of artificial plastic rice was found in the ration rice distributed at the VSS centre at Kestur village in Tumakuru taluk. The women of the family sorted the plastic rice and circulated it on social media.
