Udupi: Deep pit on Muddanna road hampers public transport | Azad Times

Udupi: At Poet Muddanna Road near Triveni Circle here, a deep pit has been dug for the construction of a signal pole and the slow pace of work has been hampering public transport.

The main drainage pipe was damaged while digging the pit for the signal pillar and a lot of waste water has been accumulated in the dug pit. There is a foul smell in the environment. Pedestrians are forced to walk with their noses covered.

Without proper street lighting system, motorists and pedestrians are likely to fall into the pit with waste water in the dark. There is also a problem of smooth flow of traffic due to the traffic congestion here.

District Civic Body activists Nithyananda Volakaadu and Taranath Mesta Shirur have demanded that the work should be completed at the earliest and smooth flow of traffic should be facilitated.
