Udupi: The Police has received a tip-off in connection with the brutal murder of Sharath Shetty, who had taken part in a village fest on Sunday February 5.

Sharath V. was handling various works including land deals and contractors. Shetty’s acquaintances had called him on his mobile phone and invited him to a complex near Sri Janardhana Temple in Pangala for talks and as soon as he was having a conversation, he stabbed him with a sharp-edged weapon and fled. Sharath, who was lying in a pool of blood, was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Udupi Superintendent of Police Hakay Akshay Machindra, Karkala Deputy SP Aravind Kalagujji, Circle Inspector K. C. Police including Poovaiah, Kaup Suma B. and Bharatesh Kankanwadi, rushed to the spot and intensified the investigation in various aspects.
