Udupi: Sand mafia gang smashes scooters of locals | Azad Times

Udupi: The two-wheeler of a local resident, who had raised his voice against illegal transportation of sand, was vandalised by miscreants of the sand mafia at Udyavara Matha Kudru.

Seer Ishapriya Theertha Sripada of Adamaru Matha held a press conference and demanded that sand mining in Matha Kudru be stopped for the past several years. He warned of a fight if it was not curbed.

The press conference was attended by local resident Bhaskar Karkera and others. Angered by this, the sand mafia smashed Bhaskar Karkera’s scooter and damaged it.

A case has been registered at Kaup Police Station in this regard.
