Udupi: Thieves broke into Jayalakshmi Silks in Udyavara, one of the famous textile industries in City, and decamped with lakhs of rupees.

The thieves broke open the window of the toilet on the backside of the building and stole the entire day’s business money.

The incident came to light when the shop opened early in the morning and the owner immediately informed the Police. A Police team along with a dog squad reached the spot and conducted inspection.

The total value of the theft is yet to be ascertained and high-level officials are at the spot to gather information.
