Vijayapuara: Harassment from higher officials, school HM dies by suicide | Azad Times

Vijayapura: In a shocking incident, a teacher allegedly died by suicide in the premises of the Tahasildar’s Office in Sindagi Town of Vijayapura District.

Four persons including the Sindagi Block Education Officer, have been suspended on the basis of a letter written by the teacher before his death alleging harassment by the officials for the incident.

Basavaraj Nayakal, the Headmaster of a Government Primary School in Sasabala Village of Sindagi Taluk, died by suicide by hanging himself in the premises of the Sindagi Tahasildar’s office after writing a suicide note.

After the suicide case came to light, a police investigation found a letter written before death by the teacher.

In the death note it was alleged that he was being harrassed by Sindagi BEO M. H. Haranala, Golageri CRP G. N. Patil and B. N. Talawara, a teacher of the school. It was also mentioned that the Former Headmaster of the School S. L. Bhajantri did not hand over the full powers to me as a Headmaster but gave it to one Basavaraj.
