Vijayapura: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar said that Devanahalli is a land of history and one should take a pledge to bring the Congress Government to power from here.

Speaking at the second phase of ‘Prajadhvani’ Yatra organised in the City, he said that after the BJP came to power, farmers in the Taluk have lost all their land and come to streets.

He expressed confidence that the Congress will come to power this time.

“After the BJP government came to power, everyone has taken to the streets and come on streets. The BJP is distorting the history of great leaders,” he alleged.

The BJP has not done any development work in the State. The Government’s job seems to be to get only 40 per cent commission, he said and alleged that the prices of essential commodities have sky-rocketed on a daily basis.
